HDMI no signal for screen

I just got a stereopi camera kit.
I have done the following steps from the wiki:
1.) connected the raspi compute module to the back
2.) inserted cameras to the camera port
3.)put the cap on the power switch pins
4.) insert the micro SD card (I have 2 the CV2 and the SLP2)
5.) plug in the USB - C power
The lights that comes on are not consistent:

At first, only the Hot-swap power LED (red) and the 5V Led (green) are coming on when using either of the micro SDs.

I took off and re-positioned the raspi compute module. This causes the following lights to come on:
- blue tooth light comes on blue
- wifi light comes on green
-power light comes on red
-hot-swap is red and 5V is green
-Act-Led turns green, then flashes, then stops lighting up.

I plug in a screen with micro hdmi and the screen is not receiving hdmi signal (note I plugged in the hdmi before turning on the stereopi.

strange thing I noticed, the Act led is turning on green and staying green when I have no micro sd in the slot.
also the lights are not coming on consistently when I plug and unplug the pi, sometimes its reverting back to just hot swap and 5v coming on.

I have tried two different types of screens (no luck there).

To rule out SD issue, I flashed a brand new micro SD with the SLP2 image. Stereopi is still not booting up on the screen.


Please advise on what I can do to get the stereopi to boot on screen.
